Long time, No Blog

Boy time is flying by and I have been ignoring this little blog of mine that I started. Last time I blogged I wrote about Craft Hope and the gift tags I made for the scarves my mom had knit. Well, I was so surprised the other day when I logged on and saw the picture of my gift tag front and center! I can't wait to find out what the next project will be!

I've also been busy sewing, sewing, sewing lately. My friends are popping out babies left and right and it's motivated me to start up my machine again! I'll be posting what I've made very soon!

Craft Hope

Craft Hope Spreading seeds of hope one stitch at a time

I love to craft. And I really love to craft for a purpose and Craft Hope gives us crafters just that.

Craft Hope posts different projects of items crafters can make and donate to help those less fortunate. What a great way to help!

The most recent project they partnered with is The Orphan Foundation of America’s Red Scarf Project. I myself am not a great knitter but my Mom is so I let her know about it and she sent 2 scarfs off last week! I still wanted to contribute so I made her some tags to go with them.

I'm sure they are going to help keep someone special very warm this winter!

Be sure to check out Craft Hope for details on their next project!

It's FUN to Craft!

"I got a Niiiikon Camera. I love to take phoooootographs..." Paul Simon anyone? No? Ok. Moving on.

I did just get a beautiful new Nikon D90 though and I love everything about. I mean this camera has everything on it and can do just about anything but it's still missing something - one of those cute custom camera straps! I was so excited to hear that It's FUN to Craft was not only hosting her first GIVEAWAY but that is was going to be one of these straps! This thing is absolutely adorable and it has a super cute pocket on it for your lens cap, or whatever else you need to hold while shooting.

There are 5 ways to enter so be sure to go and check it out!

A valentine fit for a boy

Well lets face it Valentine's Day is not very boyish with all it's pink and red and hearts everywhere. Every February I scour the Internet to find a valentine that is "manly" enough for my son to send to all his little buddies at school. This year we came across this one from Family Fun and he was sold. I had actually picked out a couple of other ones but once he set his eyes on this bad boy he just knew in his heart it was the way he wanted to spread valentine cheer.

So we gathered our supplies

And off we went!

First I printed "I'm wheely glad we're friends!" on the sheets of card stock. I divided the paper into 4's and just placed the words on the bottom left corner (I thought I took a picture of this but apparently I was wrong!)

Then I let my l little guy loose with some paint and his toy car. This was so much fun for him!

After the paint dried he signed his name. I just love how he writes, backwards "J" and all!

Then we attached our little chocolate cars that we found at our local party store and we were ready to cross the finish line!

We had a blast making them and I think they are a great valentine for a little man to hand out to all his buddies!

Pants on the Ground

I did it! I made the pants. I knew I could. My son, Jake, loooooves them and literally wont take them off! I only had enough elastic for one pair and my other son, Luke, keeps asking for some so we are going to run out and get some more "T Shirt Pants Supplies" while big brother is at school today.

Jake's favorite part about them, other than that they are super comfy, is that they came from Daddy's shirt. My husband keeps asking him "Have you seen my green shirt?" and Jake just laughs and laughs. He thinks I'm going to get in trouble for cutting up shirts or something. It's so cute!

So with out further ado - The Pants!

They aren't my finest sewing job but they look like pants to me! For some reason every time I make something like this the first time I'm too eager to iron and pin and everything else. I rush through the steps and I always come out with a fine product but I know it could be better. The first time is like a practice round for me, if you will.

Please forgive this horrible picture there is no sunshine in New Jersey right now leaving me with horrible lighting for a picture. Plus my model wasn't feeling very "model-y" today.

Ugh what a bad picture! Oh well you get the point, right?

I heart Blogs

I do! I really, really do! What a great little community this is of creativity and idea sharing. Each day I find a new blog that I love! My mind is spinning with all the new and creative ideas I find each day and my heart is over filled with love for all the people that take the time to share with me (they are just talking to me, right?) Oh how I love blogs...

I can't even begin to list a few of my favorite cause I love them all so much!!

This morning I woke up with a bit of a soar throat and am going to spend the day at home with my boys and I think I am going to make them T-Shirt Pants thanks to a tutorial I found HERE. What a wonderful blog written by such a creative/crafty person! I have everything I need right here and a beautiful new sewing machine that my husband got me for my birthday, my old one quit on me :( , so I'm going to give it a whirl!
I'll post my result (hopefully) tomorrow!

Wish me luck!
